WEEK NINE UPDATE 5/22/18

MALCOLM NAMED 5A GOLF SECOND TEAM ALL STATE

Junior Katie Malcolm has been named to the Colorado 5A Golf All State second team by CHSAA. Malcolm is a three-time first team Continental League golfer,  Academic All State, and a two time recipient of the Chaparral Underclass Female Scholar Athlete Award.

MALCOLM FINISHES 3RD ON DAY TWO, 13TH OVERALL AT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Junior Katie Malcolm shot a 2 over-par 74 on day two of the 5A State Golf Championship at Boulder Country Club. This was the third best score posted in the field of 84 golfers on Tuesday, and moved her to 13th place for the two day event. Her round included 3 birdies and was a great bounce back after a flat opening round score of 85. Malcolm's tournament line was 85-74-159

Sophomore Kira Petersen, competing in her first State Championship, shot 95-96-191. Petersen's highlights included a birdie 4 on her finishing hole on day one, as well as many booming drives and some nifty scrambling to save strokes over the two days on BCC's 5865 yard layout.

Eaglecrest's freshman sensation Emma Bryant won the individual title, shooting a 73-70-143. Cherry Creek won the team title by a 2 shot margin over their Centennial League foe Grandview.
