Turf Update

Hello Chap Families,

We're almost to week 3 of our winter workout program, in preparation for the upcoming season. We have 86 players and 12 coaches who are giving their best efforts to make sure the 2023 season is a success!  The Diamond Club is also hard at work planning and preparing the numerous events that will be taking place throughout the season.  They are also continuing to find ways to help our players have a great experience and our coaches have the necessary resources to coach up our guys!  The energy is building and personally, I can't wait for the official season to start!!

Last year about this time, the first phase of our turf project was underway. The entire area in front of the home dugout was being ripped out and replaced with artificial turf.  A new drainage system was also part of the project. If you saw the before and after, you know how much of a difference this made. And continues to make!

The Diamond Club and I have been working hard to make finishing the turf project on the field THIS YEAR a reality. However, with the cost of the turf being north of $60k, from our last quote in the fall, it has been determined that we just can’t make this a reality without some type of private, corporate or business sponsorship.  In our efforts to continue to develop our facility, we need to tap in to those sponsors who have the money and the willingness to get involved. It is truly the most efficient way we can make significant changes to our field and facility. Not only for finishing the turf on the field this year, but for future projects like installing turf on the practice field, enclosing our batting cages and building our own indoor facility.  If anyone has any ideas or contacts that they would like to share, please reach out to myself or Diamond Club president Joe Cordo.

I appreciate all your continued support for Chap Baseball! We couldn't do what we do without you!

Thanks again.
