The Chaparral Wolverines took 2nd Place at the first event of the Continental League schedule. The Wolverines shot 347 as a team, finishing 21 shots behind event champion Rock Canyon.
The Wolverines were led by Katie Malcolm. Malcolm shot a round of 80 with consistent nine hole scores of 39 and 41. Malcolm's 80 was good for a 5th place finish in the event. Elena Hernandez fired a round of 86 with splits of 44 and 42. Her score garnered a Top 15 finish with a tie for 11th. Kira Petersen also scored in the 80's, shooting a round of 88. Her round put her in the Top 20 for the day, finishing in a tie for 16th. Rounding out the day for the Wolverines was Anslea Dean. Anslea shot a round of 93, finishing in 22nd for a Top 25, completing a consistent day on a difficult golf course for Chap.
Chaparral's Varsity Girls have a 10 day break and are back in action on Thursday, April 11 at the Heather Cho Invitational at Denver University Golf Club in Highlands Ranch.
